Railserve, Inc., and our parent company Marmon Holdings, Inc., continue to closely monitor the latest updates and information across the globe related to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are continuously assessing the situation and the potential impact on our employees and their families, our customers, the communities in which we operate, and our business.
Safety is a core value at Railserve, which is why we are taking additional measures to ensure the health and well-being of our employees and to preserve our ability to operate and serve our customers. Over the past several weeks, we have taken the necessary actions to prevent the spread of infection at all sites where Railserve operates throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. We have followed guidance and direction from our customers to establish pandemic preparedness plans to ensure business continuity.
At Railserve, we have developed operational continuity plans for our teams to ensure we have the resources to provide switching and transloading services to our customers. As part of those plans, and to best protect the health of our employees and those impacted by our operations, we have transitioned non-essential, on-site employees from offices and customer sites to their homes where they continue to perform their duties remotely. In addition, we have implemented travel restrictions and mandatory quarantine periods for employees who have recently traveled. Furthermore, we have taken several extra health and safety measures within our organization, including the cleaning of work surfaces, radios, and other devices, practicing social distancing, and sharing helpful reminders on hand-washing protocols.
We will continue to evolve our action plan based on direction from federal, state and local authorities, as well as the advice provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), to ensure our employees stay safe and our customer operations remain unaffected.
